Albemarle Adopts ‘A Child Is Missing Alert’ System – Thanks to a national program the police department is bringing to the community, the next time a child goes missing it may get a little easier to find them in Albemarle County. Officer Steve Watson is the crime prevention specialist with the Albemarle County Police Department. “It helps because we will have not only the few officers out there trying to locate, and supervisors, we also have up to a 1000 people a minute if they answer their phones with their eyes and ears open,” he said.

Chaska Uses New Tool to Locate Missing Kids: Each year hundreds of kids wonder off. Most are returned safely but the key is getting as many eyes on the street as possible. Police in Chaska are using a new tool to help locate missing children. The city of Chaska is now one of the first cities in Minnesota signed up to “a child is missing,” which is a national service that so far has helped recover nearly 800 missing people.
