How to Activate Your BBM & Other BlackBerry Services on Vodacom (Pre-paid)

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

I was kind of confused as to what I was supposed to do to Activate my BBM on my new BlackBerry on Prepaid so I made this video to show all the confused people out there how to do it.. DON’T PANIC IF YOU CAN’T ACCESS THE BB APP WORLD & OTHER SERVICES, THESE ISSUES WILL BE RESOLVED AFTER ACTIVATION. Basically: When you get a New BlackBerry without a BlackBerry data plan, you won’t be able to use most of it’s services, including the wildly popular BlackBerry Messenger and E-Mail. What you are then required to do, is pay a fee per month to use these services free of charge (No data usage charges). This fee is around R59. When on Contract, you must allocate the additional BB plan to your contract and thus pay an extra 60 – 100 rand a month on your contract to use BBM. If you are not on Contract, you must manually activate the services every month at a fee of R59 p/m. All you have to do is SMS the word “BlackBerry” to the number: 100, and your BlackBerry services will be activated for 30 days. Don’t be alarmed by the at first “daunting” price of R59 p/m. You will soon realize that you will NOT be charged for any 3G Browsing data charges 🙂 Which means that while you have the plan active, you won’t be using any airtime when you surf your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and BlackBerry App world downloads will also be uncharged. It feels good when you get home after a long days browsing of all your favourite Social Networks and you check your Airtime, and you haven’t spent anything

Who Still Uses Yellow Pages?

Friday, February 24th, 2012 – Hate getting the Yellow Pages? You’re not alone. A recent survey conducted on behalf of the online phone directory site confirmed that nearly 70% of adults in the US “rarely or never” use the phone book. Unfortunately, until recently, there have been limited methods to opt out of receiving your phone book; some cities, like Seattle, have allowed local residents to opt out of receiving local phone books, but most of the nation still receives the Yellow Pages regularly. Provided that it’s offered in your area, would you like to know how to opt out of receiving the Yellow Pages from here to eternity? You can watch the entire live TLDR episode here: http

T-Mobile Samsung Exhibit II 4G Android Phone Unboxing (Monthly4G Plans – No Contract)

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Me greedily unboxing my new phone 😀 I love it so far, it’s got all the nice stuff that I can do. * Uses T-Mobile’s “4G” (3G but uses HSPA+) network * Plan starts at a month (100 talk minutes, unlimited texting, and unlimited web [First 5GB at 4G speed, rest of the month will be 2G/EDGE speed]) * Runs on Android 2.3.5 (Rootable with SuperOneClick) * Specifications: – 1GHz Snapdragon single-core processor (2nd gen) – 512MB of RAM (Although I’m seeing only ~350MB in the task manager, so I’m presuming either the kernel only allocates 384MB of RAM or T-Mobile has lied to us) – 3.2MP camera with LED flash – Front-facing camera – Plastic capacitive multi-touch touchscreen – 3.7″ TFT display – ~2GB built-in memory for apps and user data (Accepts up to a 32GB microSD card) – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Internet Tethering Detailed specification sheet: All this, with no contract and decent plans for 0. The plan with the 100 talk minutes is exclusively for phones purchased from T-Mobile’s website,, and Wal-Mart stores. Purchase it at:
